Impromptu Post: My Terrible Day!

I spent this morning deep in prayer. I prayed for my negative thoughts to be replaced with positive ones. I asked my higher power for confidence and more self-belief. I topped off my grounding ritual by writing a gratitude list, burning sage and listening to Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.

An hour later, my phone was stolen whilst I was outside. I felt so good after my morning spiritual practice but shortly fell into feeling extremely saddened by the fact I was phone-less. All I could of think is “I have such bad luck” and “My photos are gone”. The worst thing is I had to go to work shortly afterwards, leaving me no alone time to grieve the loss of my phone ha!

After I calmed down, I started to reflect on my day and something came to me. I prayed for my negative thoughts to be replaced with positive ones, NOT for my challenges to be removed from my life. I began interpreting losing my phone as a test to see whether I was going to succumb to the “woe is me” mentality or commit to overcoming this challenges.

“No one said life was going to be easy. You can start your day off on a perfect note but an obstacle may come in your way to knock you off course. The test isn’t about how well you perform without adversity but whether you choose to stand tall in the face of it.” – Ash

If your phone was stolen like mine (doubt it lol) or you are currently going through some adversity, I want you to remember this: No one guaranteed the road would be easy! What matters is what we do in the face of adversity.

Anyhoo, enough about my day!

Question to you:

How are you doing?

Much love, Ash xx

This is a good reminder to keep prayer close by as a tool.
    I truly appreciated reading this.

I won’t lie, I’m struggling; but I am trying to keep some perspective in life and accept that I am doing everything humanly possible. There are some things I just can’t control.

    1. I’m so glad you’ve read this! You’ve said something that really resonates me with- we can’t control everything! When life gets tough the best thing we can do it pray that our struggles will not be in vain. Even if we don’t understand it now, we eventually will. I’m wishing you all the best and hope you feel better soon<3

  5. I’m having one of those days, too, Ash. My first order of my recently published novel arrived short of ten copies. I’m working at focusing on the good news I’ve received.

    1. Ahh no sorry to hear that Rosaliene! The good thing is, there’s always a solution to our problems and even if its causes us to do extra work & create further difficulties, at least we know it can be resolved. It’s ok for us to be upset just as long as we don’t stay there for too long. Congrats on publishing a book by the way, that’s amazing! ❀

      1. Thanks, Ash πŸ™‚ I can’t believe it has finally happened. Now comes the business side of being an author: concerns about marketing, sales, and book deliveries 😦
I’m happy to report that the missing package is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

      2. Yay!! Some good news I’m so glad the package arrived. And ah yes the tedious part of being an author- I’m not one but I’d say focusing on the intention behind putting it out there will help carry you through. All the best πŸ’ž

    1. That’s a great thought- it’s definitely should I should pray for more often. Yes everything does pay in the end and the problems of today will be minisual overtime. I’m trying not to get caught up temporary feelings of disappointment and focus on the lessons i’ve learnt from it. Thank you for spreading this positivity ❀

    1. I was crying lol! It’s such a bummer losing your phone because it’s a lifeline these days. It made me realise how addicted I am to my phone. I feel lost without it but I will be sure to appreciate it more once I get a new one. Thank you love πŸ™‚

  15. I hope your days have brightened up since this one – having a possession stolen is awful – that feeling of being violated can be a lot worse than the lost item – I’ve experienced this too.

Just a tip – if you synch your Google account via your phone/stay logged in, it automatically transfers any photographs you take on your phone to your Google photos – it seems to do this with mine, without me ever setting anything up!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ”†x
